Curtis James Jackson III, or better known as 50 Cent, began selling drugs at the age of 12. The rapper, actor, businessman, and investor has since turned his life around, leaving drug-dealing to pursue music. Prior to his rise to fame, 50 Cent was shot nine times in 2000 by a gunman outside his grandmother’s former home in South Jamaica. Since then, he has released seven studio albums, and has appeared in 26 feature films, with three currently in production. In 2003, he founded his own record label, G-Unit Records, following his mainstream success. His business empire continued to grow, signing a deal with Reebok in 2003 to distribute G-Unit Sneakers for his G-Unit Clothing Company. In recent years, 50 Cent has removed himself from the spotlight, with the exception of a 2016 New York Post style editorial, where he was handsomely outfitted in The YUKEL.
