MOSCOT teams up with fellow New York City native apparel and lifestyle brand, Saturdays NYC, for an exclusive summer sunglass style. Inspired by the shared deep-rooted New York City heritage and active urban lifestyle, The MOSCOT x Saturdays NYC collaboration features one signature sunglass model called The TOMO.
“‘TOMO’, which means ‘friend’ in Japanese, is a name that perfectly reflects our friendship as brands, and of our patrons that appreciate what MOSCOT & Saturdays offers,” shares Chief Design Officer and 5th Generation, Zack Moscot. He adds, “the partnership was sparked as a celebration of New York centric brands representing active city culture. This was a natural fit given the similarities of the brands and our customers who appreciate our craftsmanship, heritage, and true New York narrative.”
Staying true to MOSCOT’s heritage design, The TOMO SUN is made from acetate with a wrap-around frame front featuring three dot rivets, unique beveling and no exposed hardware, paddle temples with grips, a saddle bridge, and real seven-barrel hinges. With a subtle “wrap” used for sports and to protect from the sun and wind, the new frame can be categorized as a face-form style.
Authentically capturing the textures, details, sounds and style of true urban escapism, the campaign accompanies model, and long-time friend of both brands, Danny DiMauro out to New York’s Rockaway Beach for an early morning surf session. Rounding out the collaborative partnership, The MOSCOT x Saturdays Surf Spotify playlist provides breezy beats for an endless summer chosen by members of each team.
The TOMO SUN will release as a limited 150-unit batch exclusively available online and in-stores at MOSCOT and Saturdays NYC. The specialty frame is made in two Classiconic™ MOSCOT colors: Shiny Black with G15 Glass Lenses and Dark Havana with Chestnut Fade Tinted Lenses and comes with a custom co-branded chamois.
