Meridian Lights is the song writing team of Brooklyn based vocalist Bradley Valentin and guitarist Yohimbe Sampson. The duo, who met making music as young men, stopped by the Orchard street shop to share some insight on their history, how they came up with their name, oh and maybeeee one or both are single. When it comes to Meridian Lights’ music, you can certainly describe it under its own realm of indie, alternative, rock and roll, with a real low key acoustic vibe. We highly recommend checking out their tunes for some real original music that we totally dig. LIVE FROM THE SHOP: Jose James

on Jun 16 2017
The line down Orchard street was quite the spectacle at the latest MOSCOT Music event with the uber musically talented, José James. Often referred to as a jazz singer for the hip-hop generation, New York City-based vocalist José James combines jazz, soul, drum’n’bass, and spoken word into his own unique brand of vocal jazz. As seen on his latest album cover, José was spotted wearing the MOSCOT Groyse frames… that was until he landed his eyes on the notorious MOSCOT + Common Projects drop. Packing the house to the max, the MOSCOT Music Gallery was filled with jazz legends and listeners ready to hear the man of the hour rip into his vocals with his infamous band. Opening up for José was Brooklyn native, DJ Reborn, who has worked alongside The Roots, Common, Talib Kweli, John Legend, and more! This was a music event goin’ down in the books. But don’t worry if you missed out – José is headed on a worldwide tour! Want a closer look? ALL EYES ON: Jared Scharff

on May 26 2017
MOSCOT Music presents a new and exciting series called “All Eyes On” where we introduce and support up-and-coming musicians through a series of videos, interviews and blog posts.  We started this week off with a heavy hitter and sat down with Saturday Night Live guitarist, Jared Scharff, to find out how he got his start in the biz and why he loves The LEMTOSH! Showcased in our MOSCOT Gallery & Music Space on Orchard Street, Jared quickly impressed us with his humor and energy and we gotta be honest – we didn’t want the interview to come to an end!  Having loved the guitar since a young age, attending NYU, “shredding” back to back with Sting – we had to learn more about how he got his start.  And although fellow guitar enthusiast, Dr. Harvey Moscot, knew what shredding was – we had to ask Jared to show us a preview of how to properly shred! Watch the full interview with Jared Scharff here and tune in to all MOSCOT Music things by signing up for our monthly newsletters!
