Antonio was a MOSCOT porter around Sol’s time in the Shop. As reliable as he was tough (read: very), he was surprisingly refined when it came to repairing the delicate equipment behind the counter. Much like the casual yet detailed structure of this chunky frame, this good-looking GOOLAH won’t disappoint.

While known as the black sheep of the family, Sol’s brother, Sam, was loved just the same. A bit of a rebel with a strong sense of self, when it came to matters of the family business, he fit in like a square peg to a round hole. Big and bold with exaggerated paddle temples, Poppy Joel used to put The KEPPE in our Orchard Street Shop window to grab people's attention as they strolled by. Two generations later, MOSCOT product designer, and Poppy Joel's grandson, Zack brings The KEPPE back to our Shop windows. We can't help ourselves...we love the attention.

Hyman's son-in-law Hal (aka, his "aidim") was a nice enough cat, but his work ethic was, well...non-existent. So after a brief stint behind the Orchard Street counter, Hyman encouraged Hal to pursue "other opportunities." Hyman felt guilty. Hal was never happier. We named this frame to honor all The AIDIMs out there, and the father-in-laws who've sent them on their way.

This frame is named after Sol's sister, Gladys Moscot, a wanderlust traveler who left New York's Lower East Side for a life of drinking Cuba Libres and smoking Cohibas in Havana. The frame is hot, sexy and fresh - feminine yet bold, with unique lines and curves that make a provocative statement that's still subtle with a come-hither look. Like a just barely there French accent, or a wisp of a hair that keeps falling across her face. Think Bridgette Bardot, Sophia Loren, or Kate Winslet. This frame features a hinge riveted to both frame front and temples.

Back in the days of yore, when the Lower East Side was more rough and tumble than cocktails and tapas, MOSCOT's resident optometrist, Dr. Richard Fleisig, aka "Dr. Zetz," did double duty: provided excellent eye care to patients, and punched (hence his moniker) bad guys tasks that were (almost always) mutually exclusive. Like Dr. Zetz, this strong, sturdy frame is a knockout.

Back in the 60s, local musician Buddy was always found jammin' around the East Village's simmering music scene with a guitar slung across his hips and a pair of shades on top his head. An ode to our musical roots, and the classics we can't live without, put your hands together for The HITSIK!

We named The BREN for our beloved, longtime employee, Ida Wax, who worked for 40 years at MOSCOT from the 1960s through 1990s. A "Bren" incarnate, she was a firecracker of a woman, charismatic and full of energy, and an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved her.

Harry, a reputable Lower East Side judge, was more rough and tumble than robe and gavel. He carried an air of authority and was ready to resolve any dispute (whether he was asked to or not)! He was most notable for settling clashes on Orchard Street over the age-old game of street dice. Just like the bold and bright Harry, The ARBITA, is the real deal - no need to roll the dice.

We named this frame The GROYSE because it's big. Big on style, big on character, and just plain big. Big, big, big. With its soft round shape, raw gold color, retro, flat beveled edges, and a bridge that sits high. The GROYSE is 1970s all the way. Can you dig?

Like The LEMTOSH, this "brother" from another mother, The BRUDE, shares its same round-square shape, and easy good looks, but is made from a metal acetate combination, and is rivet-free. First seen on brudes, dudes, and sisters in the 1960s, The BRUDE is subtly striking, and features detailed engraving on its bridge and temples.
