Sol (2nd Generation) used to sneak out for lunch at Ratners, where its manager Abe meticulously reviewed each customer’s receipt. A nod to the famed eatery’s specialty and Abe’s specs, The KUGEL combines tasteful metal edges and delightful acetate curves, bringing a whole new flavor to the Lower East Side.

Antonio was a MOSCOT porter around Sol’s time in the Shop. As reliable as he was tough (read: very), he was surprisingly refined when it came to repairing the delicate equipment behind the counter. We named this frame The GROYSE because it's big. Big on style, big on character, and just plain big. Big, big, big. With its soft round shape, raw gold color, retro, flat beveled edges, and a bridge that sits high. The GROYSE is 1970s all the way. Can you dig?

A "balebus" is someone who is resolute, indomitable, and steadfast - qualities Great Grandpa Hyman so admired, he "invented" the "word" balebus to "identify" a "balebuster" whenever he saw one. Nearly 100 years later, we Moscots still love us a balebus, but think this frame may be a more appropriate way to "identify" one.

Close friends and family nicknamed Grandpa Sol, Zilch, which we are absolutely certain they meant ironically since Grandpa Sol was anything and everything but zero, nada, or zip. Or they were mean. Either way, we love this new frame, and Grandpa Sol. Made from acetate with column rivets on the front and temples, a key hole bridge, and a real five barrel hinge.
