MOSCOT and BLK DNM, both native New York brands, have joined forces to produce a unique selection of unisex frames to compliment BLK DNM’s current collection, just in time for summer.
The collaboration marks the marriage of old and new New York. “MOSCOT is a New York institution and we are a fledgling brand. MOSCOT lends their expertise and incredible craftsmanship and BLK DNM offers attitude – a sophisticated yet gritty image which is how I see New York right now,” Lindeberg remarks. MOSCOT president, Harvey Moscot adds, “By incorporating Johan’s renowned design sensibility and combining it with our nearly 100 years of eyewear expertise and distinct aesthetic heritage, this collaboration captures the essence of the MOSCOT brand.”
To mirror the minimalist aesthetic of the BLK DNM brand, each streamlined frame is named SUNGLASS 1, SUNGLASS 2, and SUNGLASS 3. A description of each frame is below:
A rounded frame that is slightly squared off at the top, SUNGLASS 1 is available in jet black with brown lenses. Featuring the collection’s signature metal insert that wraps from front to temple this model is made of acetate with a saddle bridge and five-barrel hinge.
This model, available in jet black with classic G-15 lenses, features a square silhouette that is flattering for any face shape. Made from acetate SUNGLASS 2 has a saddle bridge, five-barrel hinge, and the collection’s signature metal detail on the front and temple.
The collection’s boldest frame is chunky, yet classically refined. SUNGLASS 3 is a squared off frame with an ever so slight upsweep across the brow. Available in jet black with green lenses this frame is made of acetate with a saddle bridge, five-barrel hinge, and the collection’s signature metal detail on the front and temple.
Beautiful MOSCOT shop windows keep popping up across the globe - this time in the capitale de la mode of the world, Paris!
Optique de l’Odeon, in the 5th arrondissement, has created a window that is tres magnifique, and depicts the rich history of MOSCOT. Merci Optique de l’Odeon for doing MOSCOT proud!
Sunshine and good music lit up The MOSCOT Gallery this past Saturday. We have Mother Nature to thank for the former, and two wonderful NYC-based bands for the latter: Pearl and the Beard, and Lucius.
Lucius was as harmonious as they were dapper, looking fetching in matching outfits and MOSCOT eyewear, of course!
And Pearl and Beard swooned the crowd and had them clapping along to their fun hits - which included a song about eyewear!
The next MOSCOT Music Saturday Session is on July 23rd at 2PM with special guests, Dinosaur Feathers and Apollo Run. As always, the show is free and open to all. Hope to see you there!
We've kept you waiting long enough! The CHARLA will be available online and in NYC shops tomorrow!
This delicate cat eye frame is for the woman who's equally comfortable scouring the flea market for vintage couture as she is scouring the skies for Cassiopeia. Made from acetate, The CHARLA features a five barrel hinge, two dot rivets on the temples and a saddle bridge. Available in Matte Black and Olive Horn.

Australia is doing MOSCOT proud yet again with more incredible window displays! Eye Gallery in Melbourne has created two beautiful windows that has passersby thinking MOSCOT has opened shops Down Under! Located in two of the hippest parts of town, the shops are sure to attract the well-heeled Melbourne crowd.
Yesterday, our dear friend, Terry Richardson, stopped by our Orchard Street Shop for an eye exam with the one and only Dr. Moscot, and loads of fun was had by all! We shot video and photos of the shop, our staff members (Frankie's building quite a name for himself!) and even some lucky shoppers who just so happened to be fans of Terry and MOSCOT!
The sun was shining Saturday for David Berkeley and Emily Greene's fans, who jam packed the MOSCOT Orchard Street Gallery for an afternoon of music and fun!
David Berkeley kicked the afternoon off with his deeply subtle vocals and beautiful arrangements, followed by Emily Greene's delightfully punchy songs!
All in all, a fantastic day!
Keep checking Facebook and moscot.com for more details on our next MOSCOT Music Saturday Session scheduled for July 9th.
If these chairs could talk, oh my...the stories they could tell! Grandpa Sol purchased these wooden peg and groove chairs (no nails!) in 1938 and they've been a part of our family ever since! Originally purchased for our first shop on Rivington Street, the chairs moved with us to our Orchard Street shop in 1950, and have been a rest spot for our beloved fans ever since! Two have even made the trip across the pond for MOSCOT events in Europe. They flew first class of course.
One of the top optical shops in Milano, Ottica Bergomi, have done MOSCOT proud with their spectacular window display! Just like MOSCOT, Ottica Bergomi has a long, colorful history that began in Venice in 1948 with Nonno Agostino (like our Grandpa Sol). Fast forward to the present and Ottica Bergomi has stores all across Italy and sells to some of the most fashionable people in the world! Congratulazioni!
