It takes a brave man to defy the law, and Yosi, if not brave, was certainly a subverter. Selling “sauce” to swilling street peddlers and other hardworking Joes (and Joannes) during prohibition made him a rebel with a (noble) cause in our book. Cheers! Made from metal, with full metal eyewire, acetate application on front and back of top eyewire and temple tips, characteristic groove detailing along bridge and metal temples, and a three barrel hinge. Available in Matte Gold/Mauve, Silver/Black, and Matte Gold/Mauve with G-15 Lenses.

The tenderfooted Mendel, for whom this frame is named, sold his wares from a neighboring pushcart on Rivington Street – making him a friend and a competitor (coopertition!) of our dear Great Grandpa Hyman. Lucky for all of us, Hyman won. Made from metal, with full metal eyewire, characteristic groove detailing along the bridge and metal temples, and a three barrel hinge. Available in Gold with 30% Violet Tinted Lenses and Silver with 30% Blue Tinted Lenses.

A maverick who broke rank, Uncle Izzy departed from the charted (and expected) course, and headed West to the land of swimming pools and movie stars. While sunning poolside with starlets in December, he did not regret his decision. Made from metal, with full metal eyesore, characteristic groove detailing along the bridge and metal temples, and a three barrel hinge. Available in Gold with 15% violet Tinted Lenses, Gunmetal with 15% Blue Tinted Lenses, and Gold with Burnt Amber Lenses.
While the rest of their friends were settling into conventional lives, our debonair and dashing, Great Uncle Benno, for whom this frame is named, and the love of his life, our fearless, Great Aunt Gladys, ditched the burbs and moved to Cuba for an unconventional life of Cuba Libres and Cohibas. Made from metal, semi-rimless, acetate application on front and back of top eyewire and temple tips, with characteristic groove detailing along bridge and metal temples, and a three barrel hinge. Available in Matte Gold/Mauve, Silver/Black, and Matte Gold/Mauve with G-15 lenses.

We’ve kept you waiting long enough…drumroll please…
Introducing The BENNO, IZZY, MENDEL, YOSI and ZELDA! Our newest additions to The MOSCOT Originals Collection!
We couldn't be more excited about the introduction of our new METAL frames!
The BENNO, IZZY, MENDEL, YOSI and ZELDA, are authentic replicas of styles from our family archives, circa 1960-1970. Each frame has been meticulously crafted to retain the fine details of its original construction, including groove detailing along the temples, and acetate accents across the brow. The IZZY and The MENDEL also feature fashion tint lenses. These frames are the real deal. True ORIGINALS. Available as opthalmic or sunglasses.
We're excited to introduce our newest MOSCOT Originals — The BENNO, IZZY, MENDEL, YOSI and ZELDA, which are unlike any of our other MOSCOT Originals because…they're made from METAL!
And who better to help launch our new METAL frames than the coolest METAL artists and personalities in the world!
But make no mistake — using METAL artists to launch our new METAL frames is more than just a play on words. Philosophically, there's a real connection between what they stand for as artists and what we stand for as a brand.
These men and women are the real deal. They are genuine, authentic, outrageous and unabashed. They know who they are and what they like, and they do what they want. They don't care what popular culture dictates. They blaze trails not follow paths. They're bold, they're talented, they're creative, and they're fun. They're also kind and humble…and really, really nice. They're everything MOSCOT aspires to be.
In a word, they're Originals.
We want to give a giant thank you to Alex Skolnick, Chris Adler, Faisal Talal, Jesse Leach, Jose Mangin, Juliya Chernetsky, Marwan Riyadh, Matt Heafy, Scott Ian, and Zakk Wylde for their generous participation in our campaign, and a special thanks to Jimmy Duff, who loaned us his incredible bar, Duff's brooklyn, for the photo shoot.
Yours in METAL,
Harvey Moscot & Wendy Simmons, Co-Presidents, MOSCOT

How long have you worked for MOSCOT?
I’ve worked at MOSCOT almost two years
Your favorite thing about working for MOSCOT?
My favorite thing about working at MOSCOT is adjusting frames. Every day people come in wearing crooked, uncomfortable, and generally ill fitting eyewear. Spending a few minutes straightening their frame with the hot air blowers can make a huge difference in their day. It is both form and function.
Your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?
When I’m not working at MOSCOT, I go on long bike rides that take me far away from Manhattan.
Your favorite frame/ what frame do you wear?
The frame I wear is The TUMMEL in black. It’s a mixture of one part NEBB and one part LEMTOSH.
Where would you take your favorite MOSCOT Sun on vacation?
I would take my MOSCOT Sun to Montauk. I did last year and it went swimmingly, no pun intended. Don’t wear your glasses in the ocean though; a wave can take your glasses away. It happened to a customer of mine who lives in the Far Rockaways.
