Love The NEBB? Then you’ll love The NIGEL. It’s debonair, intelligent, and easy on the eyes to boot — just like the doctor your mom keeps trying to set you up with.

With its browline shape, The DIEDRE is 1950s all the way. But leave your penny loafers and cardigans at home — this look is Jayne Mansfield, not Dorris Day. Sorry, Dorris Day.

Strawberry fields and yellow submarines your thing? Slip on The SIDNEY and you’ll be transported back to the days of peace, love and bell bottoms…only with better hair.

Don’t let this clean, simple, seemingly innocent frame fool you — with its acetate front and intricately etched titanium temples (a first for MOSCOT), The OREN should really be called Bond…James Bond.

We're super excited to introduce you to The LUCY, OREN, NIGEL, SPENCER, GARRETT, DIEDRE, SIDNEY and PARSON, our newest MOSCOT Spirit styles!

Designed in-house by The MOSCOT team, our newest MOSCOT Spirits combine key elements of The Originals with influences from the most popular frame styles from the 1950s through the 1980s. And if you're a regular visitor to our NYC shops...you may just recognize a few of the models in our new Spirit campaign!

The new styles are now available EXCLUSIVELY at our MOSCOT NYC shops and on moscot.com. If you happen to be in NYC, stop by and say enchanté to the new frames and see the campaign in person!

MOSCOT MUSIC PRESENTS: “LIVE FROM THE SHOP”

Join us ALL SUMMER LONG for FREE, UP CLOSE & PERSONAL, LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES

Join Us for special guest K.FLAY

Saturday, August 18th @ 3pm
MOSCOT Gallery & Music Space @ MOSCOT ORCHARD STREET
118 Orchard Street, New York, NY 10002 (NE Corner of Orchard & Delancey Streets)

K.Flay’s new EP, Eyes Shut, is a response to apathy. Thematically, the disc’s five tracks offer a dialogue about what it means to care—and not care—in the twenty-something years. K.Flay, the moniker for San Francisco-based musician Kristine Flaherty, reacts to this generational indifference musically. Her spitfire rhymes and distorted indie-electro production are infused with unabashed passion and thoughtful concern. Although Flaherty may write about apathy, she’s anything but apathetic She’s opened for the likes of Passion Pit and 3OH!3, was part of San Francisco’s 2011 Outside Lands Arts & Music Festival lineup, and has been sharpening her production skills by remixing other artists, including Beastie Boys, Young the Giant, Walk the Moon, and Oh Land.

Attendees will receive 20% off purchases of MOSCOT branded glasses day of show with display of web flyer or copy of email blast. A portion of music purchased from performers will benefit The MOSCOT Mobileyes  Foundation, which provides free quality medical eyecare and prescription eyewear to those who would not otherwise have access to such care. For more information visit moscotmobileyes.org.

With special guest Andy Suzuki & The Method

Sunday, August 19th @ 3pm
MOSCOT BACKYARD @ MOSCOT Court Street
159 Court Street (Between Dean & Pacific Streets)

Andy Suzuki & The Method are proving that there is still songwriting and soul in pop music. The band’s eclectic instrumentation, featuring electric violin, djembe, and piano, pushes the boundaries of the acoustic singer-songwriter genre and has been garnering rave reviews across the country. NPR declared that “Andy Suzuki...is blessed with a velvet voice,” and Time Out New York praised the band’s “deadly way with melody.” In 2011, WNYC Public Radio named Andy Suzuki & The Method the #1 band in Manhattan in their annual Battle Of The Boroughs competition, featuring the band in two show-stopping performances at WNYC’s Greene Space. TheUrbanDaily.com recently featured Andy Suzuki & The Method in their ‘Top 25 Artists That Need To Be Heard in 2012’, asserting that the band’s latest release is proof that “there is still soul in music.”

It was a great weekend of MOSCOT Music at Orchard and Court Street with Sydney Wayser and Nick Waterhouse!

On Saturday, Sydney Wayser graced the Orchard Street Gallery & Music Space with her refreshing style of indie-pop, charming the likes of show attendees and passers-by alike. The French-American singer–songwriter even sang a French song in honor of Bastille Day! It was a festive afternoon, full of great vibes and excellent tunes!

On Sunday, Nick Waterhouse and his five piece band packed the MOSCOT Backyard  with soulful singing, roaring guitar melody sax solos, and drum lines, while attendees sipped wine, and danced along to the beat!

MOSCOT Mobileyes Foundation Inc.'s mission is to  preserve sight and improve lives by providing free quality medical eyecare and eyewear to New York City’s underserved populations. Mobileyes volunteers regularly visit organizations such as Boys' Club of New York to conduct free onsite medical eye examinations and vision screening tests for New Yorkers who would not otherwise be denied access to such care. For many of these patients, these visits mark the first time in their lives they will experience clear vision – it's truly amazing what a difference a pair of prescription glasses can make in someone's life! It's an honor to serve our community, and nothing beats the feeling experienced more than letters received like this one from Corey, a member of the Boys' Club of New York, Harriman Clubhouse on the LES, whose eyes were examined.

About Mobileeyes
Using portable medical equipment, the Mobileyes Foundation team of licensed Doctors of Optometry and Optometric Technicians sets up a temporary, onsite clinic where they are able to evaluate patients’ overall ocular health and vision needs, and check for a host of medical eye conditions and general health problems. Mobileyes Opticians provide free prescription eyeglasses for patients with vision needs, and Mobileyes Foundation Optometrists provide free prescription eye drops and referral services for patients with specific conditions.

Through these efforts, the Mobileyes Foundation helps to significantly reduce instances of preventable blindness and visual impairment, and specific health problems through early detection. For more information about Mobileeyes or to make a donation, please visit http://www.moscotmobileyes.org

MOSCOT retailer Bassano Optical threw a fantastic MOSCOT-themed party at their shop in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. The event was a huge success with nearly 200 guests in attendance throughout the evening. Party-goers sipped wine, listened to live music courtesy of jazz band "Living Room Trio" and shopped for MOSCOT Eyewear. Bassano Optical invited customers, designers, jazz lovers, and, of course, fans of MOSCOT. The shop boasted special displays with vintage pieces and original vinyl from the 60's...all in the spirit of The MOSCOT aesthetic! Bravo to a successful event and a job well done! And grazie mille to Bassano Optical and Flavio of Baumvision, our MOSCOT distribution partner for Europe.
